What is Making Space?
Making Space is a registered nonprofit in the state of Oregon dedicated to enhancing individual wellness and community connection by expanding access to supportive, healing-focused spaces. We work to remove barriers for underserved communities, increase access to local gathering places, and support people as they heal, grow, and thrive together. Because healing rarely fits into neat boxes, we welcome you exactly as you are—grieving, awakening, transforming, or stepping into a new truth. All Making Space offerings are peer-led and accessible through donation-based or sliding-scale models, creating space for all beings, by all beings.
We build community by partnering with like-hearted individuals and organizations whose missions align with ours. We are deeply grateful to these partners for generously opening their doors and allowing this work to flourish.
We are in the process of preparing our federal 501(c)(3) application, with formal recognition anticipated in 2026. This step will strengthen our mission, expand our reach, and ensure all future donations are fully tax-deductible.
The Making Space Method
Our signature group model combines the best of peer support, spiritual retreat, and deep emotional presence. Whether you’re grieving, searching for purpose, or simply needing space to be your truest self, this non-clinical process invites you to be seen, felt, and transformed.

The Story Behind Making Space
Our Roots:
Making Space began as a response to grief, loss, and the search for connection. Born from lived experience and years of exploring healing practices—grief groups, meditation, yoga, retreats, breathwork, and community service—it has grown into a space where people can come exactly as they are.
We believe healing happens together. Through accessible, non-clinical programs, Making Space offers community-based support for grief, transformation, and personal growth. Here, emotions are met with compassion, stories are honored, and no one has to navigate change alone.
Our Founder:
Making Space was founded by Dylan Pritchett, whose personal journey through loss inspired a commitment to building spaces of care and connection. With a background in corporate training and development, volunteer service in hospice and community organizations, and a decade of exploring global healing traditions, Dylan brings both professional expertise and lived empathy to the heart of Making Space.
